Blue Hens Invading Delaware State Fair Today

HARRINGTON, Del. – Blue Hen Pride will be on full display at the Delaware State Fair on Tuesday, July 24 as the University of Delaware Athletic Department will once again be on hand at one of the state's biggest and most popular events.
Nearly 40 Blue Hen student-athletes and staff, including men's basketball head coach Martin Ingelsby, will hit the fairgrounds mid-afternoon on Tuesday to mingle amongst the fans and fair goers. The Blue Hens will sample a wide variety of the food choices, enjoy the rides and games, and check out the numerous animals on hand.
In what's become a yearly tradition, the Blue Hens will end the day as guest in one of the fair's signature events, the Delaware State Fair Nightly Parade that winds through the fairgrounds beginning at 7 p.m.
Once again, Delaware Athletics will also have a strong presence at the fair's new Social Spot hub located at the Exhibit Hall. From 5-7 p.m., UD student-athletes and staff will interact with fans and provide ticket information to Blue Hens athletics events, giveaways, and chances to spin the prize wheel. A photo booth will also be on site to give fans the opportunity to have shots taken with their favorite UD student-athletes and share with their friends on social media.
The State Fair runs until Saturday, July 28 in Harrington.
