No. 12 Hens Drop 5-3 Contest at No. 3 Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Blue Hens received two goals from sophomore Lotte de Koning, but the Terps were too much Saturday as No. 12 Delaware fell to No. 3 Maryland, 5-3, at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.
De Koning registered her first goal of the season in the 24th minute and also notched a penalty stroke in the 51st minute while classmate Femke Strien tallied Delaware's other goal in the 49th minute.
Freshman goalie Lizzie Gaebel made her collegiate debut in the 12th minute and logged seven saves with two goals allowed.
With the loss, Delaware falls to 2-3 on the year.
The Terps (6-0) received goals from five different players as Kelee Lepage led the way with five points on two assists and a score. Noelle Forst collected three saves in the cage.
