Complete Team Effort Propels Delaware to 74-50 Win Over Charleston

NEWARK, Del. – The Blue Hens finished the weekend with a 2-0 record Sunday afternoon with their 74-50 victory over the College of Charleston at the Bob Carpenter Center.
All active Delaware players scored at least two points in the contest while freshman Jasmine Dickey led the way with 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Junior Rebecca Lawrence contributed 10 points and tied a career-high 11 rebounds to finish the day with her first career double double while freshman Paris McBride also collected a career-best 12 points. Junior Samone DeFreese tallied 14 points and a game-best four assists as the Hens improve to 8-11 overall and 3-4 in CAA play.
The Blue Hens won the opening tip and jumped out to the 12-0 lead before the Cougars (5-13, 1-5 CAA) crept back into things in the second quarter and eventually took the lead in the third. Delaware responded immediately and went on a 24-1 run to close out the third quarter en route to victory.
