Blue Hens Make Their Mark On NFL Playoffs

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program has a long-standing relationship with the NFL, dating back to the 1940s.
The great Tubby Raymond used to say "big things happen in small little Delaware," and that's clearly evident in this year's NFL playoffs where eight former Blue Hens will be involved with organizations in the postseason.
Joe Bleymaier (Assistant Coach – Kansas City Chiefs), Nick Boyle (Tight End – Baltimore Ravens), Joe Flacco (Quarterback – Baltimore Ravens), Brian Ginn (Assistant Coach – Chicago Bears), Matt Nagy (Head Coach – Chicago Bears), Bilal Nichols (Defensive Lineman – Chicago Bears), Brett Veach (General Manager – Kansas City Chiefs) and Paul Worrilow (Linebacker (IR) – Philadelphia Eagles) are all a part of one of the most watched postseasons in the world.
The Chiefs, Ravens and Bears all won their divisions, while Worrilow, who has spent the season on the IR, is a part of the Eagles, who earned a wild card berth in the final week of the season.
Nagy, Ginn and Nichols were all a part of the one of the NFL's best stories of the year with the Bears, who went from last place to division champions in just one year. The trio will face off against the Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Chicago's Soldier Field at 4:40 p.m.
Boyle and Flacco (who has battled injuries for much of the 2018 season), will host the Chargers on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. in Baltimore.
Veach and Bleymaier, who are both part of the Chiefs, have the AFC's top seed and home field throughout the playoffs. They have a first round bye and will await to see their second-round opponent.
