Delaware Successful on Day 1 of ITA Atlantic Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Blue Hens wrapped a successful first day of play Thursday at the ITA Atlantic Regional, hosted by the University of Virginia, by posting five singles victories.
Sophomore Luis Molina went 2-0 on the day for the Hens by topping Saint Joseph's Johnnie Massart, 6-0, 6-2, before registering the 6-4, 6-3 victory over Morgan State's Sebastian Lopez.
Classmate James Wilkinson also advanced to Friday's singles action following a first round bye and a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win against Duquesne's Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal.
Delaware also received first round wins from junior Guilherme Valdoleiros and freshman Liam Hedlund.
Valdoleiros outdid Duquesne's Dominic Lea, 6-1, 6-2, while Hedlund recorded the 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 victory against Virginia Tech's Ryan Bernstine.
