William Mirams, Roberto Nieves Share CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman William Mirams and sophomore Roberto Nieves shared Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week honors on Wednesday after both players tied for fifth place at the Wildcat Fall Invitational.
Mirams, playing in just his second tournament as a Blue Hen, carded a two under par 68-69-74-211 on the par 71, 6,641-yard White Manor Country Club course. He recorded six birdies during his opening round, before adding eagles on the 15th and 17th holes during the second round. Mirams posted three birdies on Tuesday's final round of the invitational.
Nieves fired a two under par 73-61-61-211 during the tournament, carding an eagle on the 11th hole and adding three birdies during his second round before recording five birdies on Tuesday. Nieves, who was also named CAA Men's Golfer of the Week on Sept. 4, currently leads the Blue Hens with a 69.11 average round.
Delaware, which finished sixth in the team standings at the tournament, returns to the course on Oct. 13-14 at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
