Blue Hens Wrap Up Two-Day Pod Meet

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Delaware swimming & diving teams were in the water on consecutive days at JMU in the Pod meet on Saturday and Sunday alongside the Dukes, William & Mary and UNCW.

The women were able to edge out UNCW by a 180.5-165.5 final to highlight the event, led by sophomore Taylor Draganosky who took home the 200 yard breaststroke, was part of the 4x100 medley relay team that took home second, and was silver in the 100 breaststroke.

Also a member of the second-place 4x100 medley relay was freshman Christine Gallagher who grabbed silver in the 200 yard butterfly with a season-best time of 2:07.67 and classmate Natalie Dobrzykowski had three second-place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle, the 100 yard freestyle with a season-best 51.61, and the relay.

On the men's side, senior Kevin Basch brought home a pair of silvers in the 1650 yard freestyle and the 500 yard freestyle with a season-best time of 4:39.22. Freshman Doug Vaga was another second-place finisher in the 3-meter dive.

The Blue Hens will be back in action next weekend, traveling to La Salle to meet up with the Explorers and Rider, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m.
