ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Delaware opened its final fall tournament of the season Friday by capturing six victories over opponents from Columbia, Hofstra, Niagara and Saint Joseph's.
In singles play, junior Guilherme Valdoleiros pulled out the hard-fought 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) win against Columbia's Anand Saluja while freshman Fabrizio Alcobe topped SJU's Luis Janko, 6-3, 6-1.
On the doubles side, Valdoleiros paired with sophomore James Wilkinson for close victories over Hofstra (6-4) and Columbia 7-6 (6).
Alcobe and sophomore Luis Molina continued by defeating teams from Saint Joseph's (6-1) and Niagara (6-4).
