ELKTON, Md. – Delaware forced three three-set matches Sunday afternoon, but in the end the Hens came up short to Monmouth, 6-1, at Elkton Indoor Tennis.

In doubles play, freshmen James Wilkinson and Luis Molina registered their fourth straight win of the year by topping Nicola Pipoli and Alberto Giuffrida, 6-4, in top-flight action.

Sophomore Justice Jones logged his first dual match victory of the season with his 6-3, 6-2 decision over Giuffrida in No. 5 singles.

POST-MATCH QUOTES
Head Coach Pablo Montana
"Overall I thought we played very well today even though we came up short in the end. This is a tough Monmouth team and we battled them until the end. Lucho [Luis Molina] and James [Wilkinson] gave us some quick momentum winning at No. 1 doubles and then we lost a tight one at No. 3. We had match points at No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point, but we got a little unlucky with a few shots. In singles, we came out strong and we took them to three sets on courts one and three, and we came up a little short in the end. Congratulations to Justice [Jones] for coming up with a nice win over a very solid opponent. We will use this week to learn and prepare for a tough UC Riverside team on Saturday."
