Women’s Tennis Picks Up 4-3 Win Over Richmond

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Blue Hens returned home for the first time in nearly four weeks and picked up the 4-3 victory over Richmond at Delcastle Tennis Center.
Delaware (3-5) led off by capturing the team doubles point with wins in the second and third flights.
Senior Sarah Hall paired with sophomore Sarah Whited for the 6-3 victory in No. 3 doubles before freshmen Emily Gotkiewicz and Caragh Courtney clinched the point with their 6-3 win in the second spot.
The Hens then cruised in singles play and quickly went up, 4-0.
Gotkiewicz topped Lea Owens, 6-3, 6-3, in the fourth slot while Courtney posted the 6-2, 6-4 win over Dessi Zlateva in the third spot.
Tayo Adetunji sealed the deal for Delaware as the freshman collected the 6-3, 6-2 victory against Ana Ramirez in No. 6 singles.
