WILMINGTON, Del. – Delaware held it close, but in the end, Maryland came away with the 4-2 decision over the Hens at DuPont Country Club.
The Blue Hens (3-6) earned wins from freshmen as Emily Gotkiewicz and Tayo Adetunji were successful in their respective matches.
In No. 4 singles, Gotkiewicz picked up the 6-4, 6-1 victory against Zoe Kulkarni.
Adetunji followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Saya Usui in the sixth flight.
