NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof announced Friday the addition of Kerry Kiddoo to his staff as an assistant coach.
"As a coaching staff and players group, we are very excited to welcome Kerry as a new member within our UDFH family," stated Van de Kerkhof. "While interacting with Kerry on the recruiting trails and in camp settings, and again during her interview process, it was clear that she is very passionate about utilizing coaching to develop young people and she is eager to further her development as a coach. We are looking forward to the expertise and energy that Kerry will present in making us better as students, athletes and people. I know that Kerry will be a first-class ambassador of our program, athletics department and the University of Delaware as a whole."
Kiddoo joins the Blue Hens from Appalachian State, where she was an assistant coach for four seasons. In her role, Kiddoo was the team's primary goal keeping coach and also had responsibilities with video analysis, travel accommodations, recruiting, alumni relations and fundraising.
This past season, she helped guide the Mountaineers to the first two MAC Tournament victories in program history while finishing the fall semester with a 3.36 team GPA.
"I am beyond excited and humbled to being working with the Delaware field hockey program," Kiddoo exclaimed. "It is an honor to work alongside and learn within a championship culture. I cannot thank Rolf enough for this incredible opportunity, and I look forward to working with this talented, driven and passionate group of student-athletes!"
Kiddoo is no stranger to the Colonial Athletic Association as she graduated from league foe Hofstra in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and a minor in sociology. A defender with the Pride, Kiddoo led the team in minutes played and helped the HU defense to a No. 21 ranking in the NCAA in defensive saves as a junior. She was a team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and also a two-time NFHCA Academic Squad honoree and four-time recipient of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and Hofstra Athletics Academic Honor Roll.
The Chapel Hill, N.C. native is currently a coach with USA Field Hockey (High Performance and Futures) and also has experience coaching at Limestone College (2014), Carolina All-Stars Field Hockey Club, East Chapel Hill High School and TarDevils Field Hockey Team amongst countless clinics and camps.
