PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Blue Hens concluded regular season action Sunday afternoon by falling to Drexel, 6-1, at the Vidas Courts.
For the third straight match, Delaware captured the team doubles point and posted wins in the second and third flights against the Dragons.
Blaise Casselbury and Nathan Benyowitz collected the 6-4 win over Sanil Jagtiani and Xandy Hammitt in the fourth flight before Luis Molina and Laurenz Lankes paired to defeat Youssef Lahlou and Juan Manuel Sanchez, 7-5, in the third slot.
The Blue Hens will enter next week's Colonial Athletic Association Tournament with a regular season record of 14-13 and a 0-3 mark in league play. Matchups will be announced for the CAA Tournament on Monday.
Delaware has posted at least 14 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1995-97.
POST-MATCH QUOTES
Head Coach Pablo Montana
"We figured out our doubles equation as we are playing with confidence and we have taken the doubles point in the last three matches. Our singles continue to be strong, but Drexel played better, and they were the better team today. We will learn from this match as we prepare for the conference tournament next week."
