Blue Hens Post Thrilling 4-3 Victory at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Delaware captured its sixth straight win Thursday afternoon in exciting fashion with a 4-3 victory at Charleston Southern.
Tied at 3-3, freshman Viva Laas posted the 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-2 decision over Madalina Man in top-flight singles to clinch the win and register her 10th career victory.
The Buccaneers (8-8) swept doubles play, but the Blue Hens (9-9) bounced back by collecting four singles victories.
Freshman Tayo Adetunji quickly tied the match at 1-1 with her No. 6 singles win against Tiffany Pyritz, 6-1, 6-2.
Senior Sarah Hall followed with a 6-4, 6-3 decision versus Filippa Ericson in the third flight while freshman Emily Gotkiewicz logged her team-leading sixth consecutive win with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Kimberley Koerner in the fourth slot.
