Jack Melville, Nick Vecellio Earn Delaware Men’s Golf Awards

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's golf rising senior Jack Melville earned the Mike Keogh Award for the team's lowest scoring average while recent graduate Nick Vecellio received the Charlie Horn Grinder Award.
Melville received the Keogh Award, named for the Blue Hens' head coach from 2001-17. Melville, who was named the team's MVP, competed in all 11 tournaments for the Blue Hens and led the team with a 73.19 average round. He was UD's top finisher in four tournaments, while his three top-10 and five top-20 finishes were both the most on the squad.
Vecellio appeared in six tournaments for Delaware, averaging 77.35 shots per round. He finished at seven over par at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, and closed his career by competing in the CAA Championship.
The Grinder Award is presented by former Blue Hens standout golfer and program contributor Charlie Horn. Charlie was a three-year letterwinner for head coach Scotty Duncan in 1971-75, and served as co-captain of the 1975 squad that placed second at the Eastern Championships.
