NEWARK, N.J. – The Delaware men's basketball program will play on the national stage Saturday, Dec. 14, matching up with the 2018 national champions Villanova on ESPN, part of the fourth annual Never Forget Tribute Classic the Prudential Center announced Friday morning.
The Never Forget Tribute Classic supports the men and women of the armed forces that were forced into action to protect our freedom after 9/11. In partnership with SoldierStrong, the event continues to service American veterans by providing resources that aid both mental and physical rehabilitation, as well as assisting scholarship grants for domestic and foreign affair grants.
"We are honored to participate in the Never Forget Tribute Classic at the Prudential Center," said fourth year head coach Martin Ingelsby. "This will be a tremendous opportunity for us to compete against an outstanding program in Villanova while also supporting a worthy cause."
The Blue Hens are coming off their highest win total since 2014 and reached the CAA Tournament semifinal for the first time in five years and bring back rising junior Ryan Allen, the team's leading scorer at 16.0 ppg in 2018-19.
Also featured in the event is a Big 12 – SEC matchup, as Kansas State takes on Mississippi State. Official broadcast and game times will be announced at a future date.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. via TicketMaster.com and in person at the Prudential Center Box Office on Monday, July 29 at 11 a.m.
