LANCASTER, Pa. - The new beginning of a decade opened a new chapter for freshman Ashlyn Carr as she was recently named to the U-21 Junior National Squad to represent USA and Delaware on an international stage.
Selections to the U-21 Junior National Squad were released after three intense days of training at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa., which featured approximately 60 elite female collegiate athletes.
During Carr's rookie campaign she held second in standing for the Hens with 21 points on nine goals and three assists, three of the nine being game-winning goals. Carr was a Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team selection as well as earning CAA All-Second Team, CAA All- Rookie Team and Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team honors. She was also a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week.
The USA U-21 team will begin training next month in Chula Vista, California from February 20-24. At the end of March, the squad will undergo training camp round two alongside the other women's Junior National Teams in Chapel Hill and Durham, N.C. The two training camp opportunities will assist in the team's year-long preparation for the Junior Pan American Championship that will take place in Santiago, Chile from November 30-December 13, 2020.
