SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - University of Delaware field hockey midfielder Sarah Rigual and back Lily Cosner earned the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's field hockey weekly awards for the week of October 19.
Â
Rigual had a game-winning goal on her only shot of the game in her home state in Delaware's 2-1 win over VCU and had strong midfield play across both games in Delaware's 2-0 weekend in her home state. Rigual tied a season-high 57 minutes in the Fightin' Blue Hens' overtime win at Richmond.
Â
Cosner had a standout weekend in Delaware's away sweep against Richmond and VCU, playing all 121 minutes. She scored the game-winner in overtime at Richmond, finalizing three goals in five minutes for UD. This was her second goal in three games, with the tally helping the back reach the 10-career point mark.
Â
This is the third-career and second-consecutive laurel for Rigual, while this is Cosner's second of her career. This is the second time that this exact duo has split MPSF weekly awards, doing so for the week of November 4, 2025.
