Delaware Comes Up Short At Charleston, 84-73

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Blue Hens had three players score in double figures but it wasn't enough Sunday afternoon as the College of Charleston topped Delaware, 84-73, at TD Arena.
Nicole Enbosi led the way with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists while Samone DeFreese and Kayla Shaw each captured 16 points for the Hens.
DeFreese added a season-best 13 rebounds for her 11th career double double.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead by knocking down six 3-pointers in the first quarter and led by as much as 20 in the third quarter, but UD was able to chip away and bring it within six at 74-68 with just over four minutes remaining in the contest. CofC capitalized on five made free throws and three Delaware turnovers in the waning minutes to pull away with the win.

"You have to win every 50-50 ball and you have to win the hustle plays. In conference play, it's going to come down to this. My hat goes off to [head coach] Robin (Harmony) and what she's doing with this Charleston program. Un moments I feel like we fought, and we did a great job of coming back and cutting into their lead. But in certain possessions we needed to get that rebound or steal because momentum had gone our way. I can't say enough about the fight we showed. I'm obviously not pleased with how we finished the weekend, but it's a grind. We have to continue to just take care of the little things."
