Blue Hens Season Opener Washed to Saturday

Delaware and FAU will resume in the home half of the fourth
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Delaware baseball team will be forced to resume its season opener Saturday afternoon, trailing 5-1 in the bottom fourth inning to FAU after rain forced a delay and a wash out Friday night.

Junior Jordan Hutchins was the bright spot for the Blue Hens with a solo shot to left field to lead off the fourth inning before the delay and postponement.

Freshman Aidan Riley singled in his first career at-bat and senior Vinny Vaccone and sophomore Joseph Carpenter also had hits for Delaware.

Game two of the series will still be played Saturday, originally scheduled for 4 p.m., it will begin following the conclusion of game one.
