TOWSON, Md. – Finishing the game with her 50th career double-double, Nicole Enabosi broke Delaware's all-time rebounding record in Friday's 76-66 loss to Towson at SECU Arena.
The graduate student needed 10 to tie and 11 to break Danielle Parker's mark of 1,064 from 2008-13 and wrapped play against the Tigers with 12 rebounds to go along with 17 points in 35 minutes of action. Enabosi's 1,066 career boards is also good for ninth in Colonial Athletic Association history.
Samone DeFreese added a double-double of her own with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Jasmine Dickey contributed 10 rebounds, seven points and a career-high five steals.
The first half proved to be a back-and-forth affair with the two teams going into the break tied at 27. Towson took charge in the third quarter and carried that momentum through the end of the game for the win.
POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Natasha Adair
"It was a pretty competitive first half and at halftime, we talked about getting off to a good start and limiting their big three of Q. Murray, Nukiya Mayo and Kionna Jeter. I thought we got good looks, but the ball wasn't falling in. We were trading possessions, but their transition was activating points. We have to put together 40 minutes of effort, toughness and focus, especially on the road."
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
• Sunday, March 1 – Delaware at James Madison – Convocation Center (Harrisonburg, Va.)
• Thursday, March 5 – College of Charleston at Delaware – 7 p.m. – Bob Carpenter Center (Newark, Del.)
• Saturday, March 7 – UNCW at Delaware – 1 p.m. – Bob Carpenter Center (Newark, Del.)
