Delaware Captures 7-0 Triumph Over La Salle

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Blue Hens continued their hot start to the season Friday afternoon by topping La Salle, 7-0, at Delcastle Tennis Center.
Delaware opened the day by sweeping the team doubles point. Emily Gotkiewicz returned to the court for the first time this season after undergoing surgery in the fall and paired with Isabella Montana for the No. 2 doubles win.
In top-flight doubles, Eliza Askarova and Sarah Whited moved to 5-1 on the year with their win.
Viva Laas kicked off singles action with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jovi Konda in the fifth flight and White followed with her own 6-0, 6-0 win against Maansi Malhotra in the fourth spot to clinch the team triumph.
In No. 3 singles, Montana defeated Jazmin Walle, 6-0, 6-1 while Askarova collected the 6-1, 6-1 decision over Ali Snyder in No. 1 singles.
Caragh Courtney wrapped the day with her 6-1, 6-1 decision over Aleks Nikolic in the second slot.
The Blue Hens are off to their best start since 2012-13 when they went 4-0 to open the year.
