Football Game Preview: Dixie State

» Saturday will mark the first ever meeting between Delaware and Dixie State. The Trailblazers are in their second season as an FCS program after making the transition from Division II.

» In last Saturday's Homecoming contest against James Madison, safety Kedrick Whitehead and linebacker Johnny Buchanan each had career days to lead the defense. Whitehead set a career-high with 15 tackles to lead all players, while also adding three pass breakups in the secondary to help hold the JMU offense to just 119 passing yards. Buchanan also set a personal best in tackles, registering 13 takedowns on the day.

» Dejoun Lee ranks second in the CAA with 123.0 all-purpose yards per game this season. For his career, Lee has totaled 3,940 all-purpose yards and is just 60 yards short of becoming just the ninth player in Delaware history to reach the 4,000-yard mark. Lee also sits at 2,226 career rushing yards and needs 189 yards to break into the top 10 in program history.

» Dejoun Lee ranks second in the CAA with 138.3 all-purpose yards per game this season. For his career, Lee has totaled 3,909 all-purpose yards and is just 91 yards short of becoming just the ninth player in Delaware history to reach the 4,000-yard mark. Lee also sits at 2,195 career rushing yards and needs 220 yards to break into the top 10 in program history.

» Dixie State enters Saturday's contest with an 0-7 record in just the program's second season as a Division I member. The Trailblazers are playing one of the toughest schedules with five opponents who reached the FCS Playoffs this past spring.

» The DSU offense is scoring 14 points per game, while gaining 316.3 yards of total offense. A pass-heavy offense, the Trailblazers are averaging 234.9 passing yards per game, while three quarterbacks have combined to throw 16 interceptions. The defense is allowing 40.6 points per game, and opponents are averaging 459.9 yards per game, including 225 yards on the ground.
