• Delaware opens play in the Gulf Coast Showcase with an opening round game against Appalachian State.
• The winner faces the winner of the Akron/Fordham game on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The loser faces the loser of the Akron/Fordham game on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
• The game kicks off a busy stretch for the Blue Hens that features nine games in the next 19 days.
• Delaware won its seventh consecutive home opener by edging La Salle, 85-82 in overtime, Wednesday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.
• Ryan Allen scored a career-high 35 points, and has now scored 1,500 points in his career. He also hit five 3-pointers, giving him 250 triples for his career.
• Kevin Anderson added 10 points, becoming the 37th player in Delaware history to reach the 1,000-point mark.
• Dylan Painter recorded his second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
• The last time the Blue Hens played in the state of Florida, they won the 2019 Sunshine Slam championship with wins over Oakland, Southern Illinois and UTSA.
• Delaware won its only previous meeting with Appalachian State, an 89-77 victory at the Roanoke Invitational on Dec. 29, 1972.
