» Delaware opens its 117th men's basketball season against the Davidson Wildcats. The Blue Hens are 56-60 in their 116 season openers, and have won five of their last six games to open a season.
» The last time UD opened a season with a road game against an Atlantic 10 opponent, the Blue Hens posted a 76-63 win at Richmond on Nov. 10, 2017.
» Tonight's game is the second ever meeting between Delaware and Davidson. The Blue Hens posted a 92-89 victory over the Wildcats on Dec. 2, 1977 at the Charlotte Invitational.
» Delaware returns its entire roster from the 2020-21 season. The Blue Hens are one of just three Division I programs to return 100 percent of its scoring from a year ago, along with Saint Francis (Pa.) and Saint Mary's.
» All four of UD's seniors from last season (Ryan Allen, Kevin Anderson, Anthony Ochefu and Dylan Painter) decided to return. The Blue Hens are one of four Division I program featuring at least four "super seniors."
» Delaware was picked first in the CAA Preseason Poll for the first time since joining the league in 2001-02.
» Dylan Painter was named to the preseason first team, while Ryan Allen was a second team pick.
» Allen enters the season ranked ninth in program history with 1,441 career points. Kevin Anderson needs 25 points to reach 1,000 for his career.
