Putnicki, Seemans Take Home First Round of CAA Weekly Awards

Each Blue Hen earns their first weekly honor
RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware volleyball program is represented in the first round of Colonial Athletic Association weekly awards as redshirt junior Michaela Putnicki was named the Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Savannah Seemans is honored as Rookie of the Week.

Putnicki was the leading attacker in her Delaware debut at James Madison Sunday afternoon, tallying 16 kills, including seven in the fourth and final set. She hit .250 with seven digs and five blocks in the victory.

Seemans was also efficient in her collegiate debut with 12 kills in the match to go along with four digs, two blocks and an ace. She makes it the second season in-a-row that the Blue Hens have the season's first CAA Rookie of the Week winner.

Delaware will once again match-up with JMU, this time hosting the Dukes Friday at 5 p.m. inside the Bob Carpenter Center. Due to the spring season's divisional format, these matches do not count towards CAA standings.
