Blue Hens Take On Defending CAA Champs

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's swimming & diving team went toe-to-toe with the defending CAA Champions, falling to James Madison, 177-123, Friday afternoon in Rawstrom Natatorium.

"Very proud of our team to go head-to-head against the defending conference champions today," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "They handled the challenge very well after a tough week of practices. We continue to get better as we compete more and we are working on those details that will have a big impact at the end of the year."

Sophomore Mira Selling swam to two victories, taking home the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.70. She was also first to the wall in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:02.75.

Junior Taylor Draganosky was the winner of 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.31, as well as the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:23.74.

Freshman Julia Cichowska won her first collegiate event, first to the wall in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:04.58. She also was the winner of the 100-yard butterfly in 57.11.

On the boards, the Blue Hens had solid performances from freshmen Rowan O'Sullivan and Julia Servas who placed third in the 3-meter and 1-meter, respectively.

Delaware is back in the water March 6, when it hosts Towson in Rawstrom Natatorium.
