Justin Ruth Named CAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman forward Justin Ruth was named the CAA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring both Delaware goals in Sunday's 2-2 double overtime draw with Drexel.

Ruth put the Blue Hens on the board in the 19th minute when he collected a pass in the midfield, dribbled to the edge of the box and fired a shot into the net for his first collegiate goal.

In the 37th minute Ruth took a pass down the right side from Zach Golden, chipped the ball past a Drexel defender and fired a shot into the cage from 10 yards out to make it a 2-0 game.

Delaware is 2-0-1 on the season, and is currently tied for first place in the CAA's North Division along with Hofstra. The Blue Hens and Pride, who are both 1-0-1 in league play, face off Friday at 5 p.m. in Hempstead.
