Oihana Etxezarreta Named CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware freshman Oihana Etxezarreta was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following her impressive performance at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate.
Etxezarreta tied for third place among individuals on Monday and Tuesday by carding a one over par 75-70-72-217 on the par 72, 6,203-yard Pinetree Country Club Course. She posted three birdies during Monday's opening round, before adding six during her second round of the day including three straight on the first three holes of the course. Her final round featured an eagle on the 11th hole to go with birdies on the 16th and sixth holes.
Etxezarreta's three-round score is the lowest by a Blue Hen this spring. She currently leads the team with a 75.44 average round through the season's first three tournaments.
Etxezarreta and the Blue Hens return to the course on Mar. 29-30 when they compete in the William & Mary Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
