Blue Hens Take Fourth in CAA Championship

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware women's swimming team took home five medals on the final day of the CAA Championships to finish fourth in the event.
The Blue Hens claimed their most gold medals since 2004, when they won five in the Championships, and their first since 2016.Â

Senior Audrey Duvall made her third visit to the podium in the final swim of her career, taking second place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.09. Junior Taylor Draganosky also advanced to the finals and finished in 2:17.72 for fourth.

Sophomore Mira Selling won her second gold in as many nights and her third medal of the championships, winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:59.61. Freshman Julia Cichowska was close behind, taking bronze in the event with a time of 2:01.31.

Freshman Nicole Chiappa earned the first medal of her career, swimming the 100-yard freestyle in 50.53 for the bronze.

The Blue Hens' team of Chiappa, Duvall, Selling and sophomore Natalie Dobrzykowski swam to a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Seniors Alex Nachodsky and Emma Tinney, along with freshman Charlise Oberholzer advanced to the "B" final in the 1650-yard freestyle. Sophomore Rainna Tomlin was a "B" finalist in the 200-yard backstroke.

Dobrzykowski also made an appearance in the "B" final of the 100-yard freestyle. Sophomores Marietta Gately, Erin Lillis and Jenna Leonard finished 10th, 11th and 12th in the 200-yard backstroke.

Freshman Aislinn Mitchell reached the "B" finals in the 200-yard butterfly, along with senior Catherine Erwin and junior Allison Gozdan.
