Blue Hens Third, Etxezarreta Tied for Fourth After Opening Round of CAA Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Delaware women's golf team sits in third place while freshman Oihana Etxezarreta is tied for fourth following Sunday's opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
The Blue Hens fired a 314 score to finish the day in third place out of seven squads. James Madison leads the field at 302, while Charleston is second with a 306 score.
Etxezarreta carded a three over par 75 on the par 72, 6,050-yard East Course at Grandover Resort, as she birdied the fifth, 13th and 18th holes while adding nine pars on the day. Three players are tied for first place at two over par 74, while Etxezarreta and Othilie Lied of Charleston are each one shot back.
Christina Carroll posted three birdies in addition to an eagle on 13, as she ended the day in a tie for ninth place with a six over par 78. Anna Kittelson, who also made three birdies during her round, is tied for 14th place with an eight over par 80.
Liz Coffren carded a nine over par 81 to finish the day in a tie for 19th place, while Lexi Dart is tied for 21st place with a 10 over par 82.
