Blue Hens Fall to James Madison, 2-1

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Blue Hens wrapped up their Virginia road trip with a heartbreaking loss to CAA foe James Madison.
"I'm proud of the way our team competed here at JMU!" said head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof. "We knew today was an important game and our young team needed to take another step forward. We did so in more areas, and overall our team played better compared to Sunday's game against William & Mary. With the improvements from this road trip and a couple more training sessions back at UD, I know this team will be ready to face Drexel and Hofstra in a must win two-game weekend."
The Blue Hens lone goal came from freshman Julia Duffhuis off of a penalty corner, assisted by Berber Bakermans and Ashlyn Carr.
Delaware goalkeeper Lizzie Gaebel had two saves on the day, one huge save on a penalty stroke to keep the Blue Hens within one point of the Dukes.
The Blue Hens return to Rullo Stadium this weekend to wrap up their regular season facing Drexel on Friday at 5:00 and Hofstra on Sunday at 1:00.
