Oihana Etxezarreta Named To Women’s Golf All-CAA Second Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman Oihana Etxezarreta has been named to the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Second Team as the league announced its all-conference honorees on Thursday.

Etxezarreta was the Blue Hens' low finisher in five of six tournaments this spring, and led the team with a 74.56 average round. She posted four top-10 finishes during the year, and placed among the top five individuals three times.

Etxezarreta was the Kingsmill Intercollegiate medalist and led Delaware to the team title by carding a one under par 75-74-66-215. Her final round was the second lowest in UD history, while her three-round total was the eighth lowest in program history. She became the sixth Blue Hen, and the first freshman, to win medalist accolades at a tournament.

Etxezarreta also tied for third place at the Pinetree Collegiate, was fifth at the Golfweek Spring Invitational, and placed ninth at the CAA Championship.
