Matthews Unveils 2021 Volleyball Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware volleyball head coach Sara Matthews announced her squad's schedule for the upcoming 2021 season.
The 26-match slate features 12 outings at the Bob Carpenter Center as well as road matchups against two teams that made the NCAA Tournament this past spring.
Delaware will open the non-conference slate on Aug. 27 in Pennsylvania when the Blue Hens take on the defending MAAC champions Rider in Philadelphia as part of the Temple/Villanova Tournament. A meeting with Temple awaits Delaware later in the day, before the Blue Hens travel to Villanova to square off against the Wildcats the following evening to close out the two-day tournament.
The Blue Hens will then host NJIT, Fordham and Maryland Eastern Shore the next weekend for the Delaware Invitational that will take place Sept. 3-4. Delaware will begin the weekend with contests against the Highlanders and Rams on Friday before wrapping up the tournament on Saturday versus the Hawks.
The final tune up prior to conference play will go down in Lawrence, Kan., as the Blue Hens will compete at the Kansas Tournament and go up against Kansas, Kent State and Wichita State from Sept. 9-11.
Delaware returns to the Bob Carpenter Center to open CAA play on Sept. 18 when it welcomes James Madison for a pair of weekend matches. Throughout the conference slate, the Blue Hens will additionally host Hofstra (Oct. 2-3), Charleston (Oct. 23-24) and William & Mary (Nov. 13-14) along with a non-conference matchup versus UMBC scheduled for Nov. 4.
The Blue Hens will take on the defending CAA regular season and tournament champions Towson in Maryland on Oct. 29 and Oct. 31.
