Christina Carroll Qualifies for U.S. Women’s Amateur

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women's golfer Christina Carroll has qualified for the USGA United States Women's Amateur, becoming the first player in program history to do so.
Carroll finished in second place at a qualifier in Bethesda, Md. on July 13, firing a two over par 72 at Kenwood Golf & Country Club. She carded three birdies and 10 pars during her round, becoming one of just three players in the field to qualify for the U.S. Women's Amateur.
The U.S. Women's Amateur will be held on August 2-8 at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
Carroll, a rising sophomore at UD, competed in all six tournaments for the Blue Hens this spring, ranking second on the team with a 76.06 average round.
