Blue Hens Announce 2021-22 Swimming and Diving Schedule

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware swimming and diving teams will host five meets during the 2021-22 season as head coach Pablo Marmolejo announced the schedule on Tuesday afternoon.Â
"We are excited to go back to a normal schedule this year and have a full schedule of competition," Marmolejo said. "We are reconnecting with some schools from our 2019-20 season and brought in some new and exciting ones as well. It is going to be a travel-heavy schedule, but we will be ready for the challenge."
The Blue Hens travel to Baltimore for a season-opening tri-meet against UMBC and Johns Hopkins on Oct. 2. The following Saturday, Delaware plays host to George Mason for the first home meet of the campaign.Â
The squad starts off the month of November away in Wilmington, N.C., for the two-day POD Meet on Nov. 6-7. Delaware then returns home on Nov. 13 for a tri-meet against La Salle and Rider.Â
The Blue Hens close out 2021Â on the road in Fairfax, Va., for the Patriot Invite (Nov. 18-20), before starting 2022 on the road at CAA rival Drexel on Jan. 8.
Delaware hosts a pair of meets against Seton Hall (Jan. 15) and West Chester (Jan. 22) prior to heading to Towson on Jan. 29.Â
In February, Marmolejo hosts the Last Chance Meet (Feb. 5-6) to prepare for the CAA Championships in Christiansburg, Va., that will take place from Feb. 16-20.
Last season, the women's squad placed fourth in the CAA Championships with Julia Servas earning the CAA Rookie Diver of the Year nod, while the men finished fifth.
