Oihana Etxezarreta Named CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen sophomore Oihana Etxezarreta was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following her outstanding performance over the weekend at the Nittany Lion Invitational.

Etxezarreta fired a seven under par 65-75-69-209 on the par 72, 6,115-yard PSU White Course to finish in a tie for second place among individuals. Her opening round 65, which tied for the lowest round in program history, featured six birdies and an eagle on the sixth hole. She again eagled the sixth hole during her final round, while adding four birdies on the day.

Etxezarreta's 209 score is tied for the second lowest three-round total in UD history. She led Delaware to a second place finish in the team standings, as the Blue Hens' 863 score is the lowest 72-hold total in program history.

Etxezarreta, a second team All-CAA selection during the spring, earned her third career CAA Golfer of the Week honor.
