Blue Hens’ Game at Towson Suspended Due To Unsafe Court Conditions

TOWSON, Md. – Delaware's men's basketball game against Towson Thursday night at SECU Arena was suspended early in the second half due to unsafe court conditions.
Delaware led 38-29 with 18:42 remaining when the game was suspended. The teams will complete the game at a date to be determined
Dylan Painter scored 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting for the Blue Hens, while Jameer Nelson Jr. added nine points. Jyáre Davis contributed six points and a team-high five rebounds, while Ebby Asamoah chipped in five points.
Delaware shot 53.3 percent from the field, including 4 of 8 from three-point range.
Charles Thompson paced Towson with 10 points, while Cam Holden added seven points and five rebounds.
Towson led 16-12 eight minutes into the game but Delaware responded with a 19-6 run, taking a 31-20 lead on a three-point play by Nelson Jr. at the four-minute mark. Nelson Jr. hit a three-pointer to put the Blue Hens up 38-25 with a minute to play, before Thompson drained a jumper to cut the Tigers' deficit to 38-27 at the break.
Thompson scored a bucket to start the second half, but after Nelson Jr. slipped on the floor at the 18:42 mark, the officials halted the contest.
