ELON, N.C. – A trio of double-doubles and a milestone afternoon shines as the University of Delaware women's basketball captured an 87-65 road win over Elon (10-7, 2-5 CAA) Sunday afternoon inside Schar Center in Elon, N.C. The Blue Hens (13-5, 7-1 CAA) played three games in five games and is heading back to the First State with three-straight wins.
"3-0! The word on the board today was finish and they did it beautifully," said head coach Natasha Adair. "We have been talking about getting off to great starts and today it was impressive. Everybody was on board, locked in and it was energy, effort and defensive discipline the whole way. Different people stepped up, tonight it was Makayla Pippin, first-career double-double with us. You can't have a game like this without "Ms. Consistency" Ty Battle, 12th double-double. Jasmine Dickey, can't say enough about her, 1,600 career points, fifth in program history and she is not done yet. But we don't do it without Paris McBride, Tyi Skinner, Jewel Smalls – stepped up, Tee Johnson – stepped up. Down to the stretch, you see them cheering for their teammates. We do it as a team, we do it as a family, we do it with defense and we have a whole lot of fun. 3-0, that was the goal and we finished the job and now we are on our way home happy. Very proud of this group."
Delaware opened the game with a strong 18-8 run capped by Makayla Pippin's free throw with 1:22 left. Kayla Liles knocked down a triple for Elon to close out the quarter trailing by seven, 18-11.

The Blue Hens answered back with an impressive 21-8 run, which was started by Jasmine Dickey's pair of free throws and then capped by Jewel Smalls connecting from deep to beat the buzzer, sending Delaware into the break with the 14-point lead, 41-27.
