NEWARK, Del. – The No. 6/6 University of Delaware football team returns to the road this weekend as it makes the program's first trip to Williamsburg since 2016 for a matchup against No. 16/17 William & Mary. It will be the second top-25 road matchup for the Blue Hens this season. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on FloFootball.

About the Blue Hens
- Delaware moved to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the CAA with a 24-10 win over Towson last weekend in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,905 fans at Delaware Stadium. The Blue Hens stayed put in the national rankings, entering Saturday at No. 6 in both the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and the AFCA Coaches Poll.
- Against the Tigers, Nolan Henderson completed 25 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns. He found 11 different receivers, including connecting with Chandler Harvin three times for 105 yards and a score.
- Johnny Buchanan, who is tied for the national lead with a total of 59 tackles, led another stout defensive effort, finishing with a game-high 11 tackles and 0.5 TFL, earning CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
- Henderson is currently leading the CAA and third in the country with 16 passing touchdowns and also ranks fifth nationally with 1,457 passing yards.
- Delaware allowed just a single field goal against Towson for the second-straight game and opponents have managed less than 10 points in four of the first five games against the Blue Hen defense. In all five games, UD has held opposing quarterbacks under a 50% completion percentage
Scouting William & Mary
- William & Mary enters Saturday's matchup with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in CAA play. The Tribe is currently ranked No. 16 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 17 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.
- They are coming off a 27-10 win over Stony Brook after dropping their CAA opener against Elon (35-31) a couple of weeks ago. William & Mary opened the season with a convincing 41-24 victory over FBS opponent Charlotte.
- Through the first five games, William & Mary is averaging 34.0 ppg and 440.8 ypg on offense. The ground game ranks sixth in the country with an average of 241 ypg. Defensively, the Tribe is allowing just 19.4 ppg and 309.4 ypg.
- Darius Wilson, the 2021 CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year, quarterbacks the Tribe offense and is completing 65.7 percent of his passes for 963 yards and seven touchdowns. He also averages 42.6 rushing yards per game.
- Bronson Yoder is third in the CAA with 104 rush yards per game and has scored four touchdowns, while Malachi Imoh has rushed for 306 yards and seven scores.
- The defense is led by John Pius who has 34 tackles and league highs of 12.5 TFL and 7.5 sacks. Jalen Jones is tied for the CAA lead with three interceptions.

Delaware will have its bye week next Saturday and will return to action on Saturday, October 22 when the Blue Hens step out of conference play to host Morgan State. Kickoff on Homecoming Weekend is set for 3 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
