Men's Soccer Lands Three On CSC Academic All-District Teams

NEWARK, Del - Pedro Barbolla, Brian Kelly, and Jack Leonard were all named to the 2022 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators. This recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, with a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Barbolla started in all 14 games he appeared in this season. The junior, a sport management major, was third on the team in minutes played this season and brought veteran stability on the defensive side of the ball to a young Delaware squad. Kelly, also a junior majoring in finance, played in 14 games this season and recorded a season-best 41 minutes against No. 8 Maryland. Leonard, a senior captain majoring in finance and minoring in Spanish, played in nine games and started in four after making his season debut against Lehigh on Sept. 20. Leonard also made key contributions in 71 minutes played against Monmouth on Oct. 22, which led to a key 1-0 road victory.
