NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team will close out their non-conference slate Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 21, when the Blue Hens welcome American inside Bob Carpenter Center. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.

What You Need to Know:
- This will be the 19th time Delaware and American will be meeting in program history, with the Blue Hens holding a 13-5 all-time record and a 7-3 mark inside Bob Carpenter Center.
- The last time Delaware and American met were during the 2017-18 campaign, where the Blue Hens captured the 72-56 home victory on Nov. 16, 2017. The Blue Hens will be looking to extend their winning streak against the Eagles to six games.
- Delaware snapped its two-game skid on Sunday, Dec. 18 to close out their road non-conference slate. The Blue Hens returned to winning ways after claiming the 79-67 win over the Mountain Hawks.
- The statline at Lehigh: Klarke Sconiers poured in a career-best 29 points on 10-12 efficient shooting from the field while tying her career-high 11 rebounds. Tara Cousins followed with 15 points and seven rebounds while Makayla Pippin chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds to register her third double-double on the season. Jewel Smalls poured in 13 points, three three-points in a game for the sixth time this season, and nabbed two steals. This was the first game two Delaware players had a double-double in the same game since March 12, 2022 against Towson (Jasmine Dickey, Ty Battle).
- American snapped their nine-game losing streak on Sunday (Dec. 18) at UMBC. The Eagles prevailed over the Retrievers with a 70-68 road victory. Emily Johns led the charge for the Eagles with a career-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists and a steal. On Monday, Johns was named Patriot League Player of the Week.
- Among the national leaders as of Dec. 18, Delaware, as a unit, ranks 40th in field goal percentage defense (35.7) and defensive rebounds per game (29.1). Pippin ranks 28th in rebounds per game (9.8) while Jewel Smalls ranks 42nd in three-pointers per game (2.70) and 50th in three-pointers (27).
