Carpenter, Dunion Named CAA Baseball Preseason Honorable Mention

RICHMOND, Va. – Joseph Carpenter and Jake Dunion were named Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Preseason Honorable Mention as the league announced its preseason all-conference teams on Wednesday.
Carpenter was a second team All-CAA selection last spring, when he started all 34 games at first base and hit .260 on the year. Carpenter, who led the Blue Hens with eight multi-RBI games, tied for the team lead with five homers and ranked second with 25 RBI.
Dunion was also a second team All-CAA pick in 2021, in addition to earning CAA All-Rookie Team honors. Dunion, who appeared in 23 games while making 14 starts a year ago, batted .397 with 25 hits, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored. He recorded four hits and drove home five runs at Hofstra, and added a pair of three-hit games against Northeastern.
Delaware was picked eighth in the preseason poll with 18 points. The Blue Hens open their 2022 campaign at the Stetson Tournament on Feb. 18-20 when they take on the host Hatters along with Manhattan and Notre Dame.
