Football Signs Two More to Join Program This Fall

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football team has added two more student-athletes that will join the program for the 2022 season. The Blue Hens will be boosted by the arrival of offensive lineman Josh Stevens, a graduate transfer from Georgetown, as well as incoming freshman running back Jo’Nathan Silver.
The two signees bring this year’s class of newcomers to 12. The Blue Hens signed seven incoming freshmen to NLI’s during the early signing period in December and added three transfers on National Signing Day in February.

High School: A three-year starter at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School, serving as a team captain as a senior ... Helped lead Saint Stephen's to a state championship as a senior ... Selected first team all-county and all-state as a senior ... Also a member of the basketball and track & field teams, winning a state championship in track & field ... In the classroom, an honor roll student ... Played a postgraduate year at Deerfield Academy, leading the Big Green to a 6-3 record ... Uncle, Reggie Sr. (Temple), and cousin, Reggie Jr. (Boston College), both played college football, while another uncle, Tim, and grandfather, Charles, both played in the NFL ... Mother, Becky, played basketball at Queens College and overseas.
Joshua is an experienced, talented athlete who will immediately add competition to our O-Line room. The game is won up front and we are happy to have him on our side of the line of scrimmage.Head Coach Ryan Carty on Stevens.

High School: A three-year starter at Washington Township High School, serving as a team captain as a senior … Finished his senior year with 884 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 132 carries, while also adding 72 receiving yards and another score on six receptions … A threat on special teams, finished his senior season with 1,111 all-purpose yards.
Jo’Nathan is a versatile, explosive football player. His skill set is what we’re looking for in our running back room. We can’t wait to see what he can bring to our Blue Hen offense.Head Coach Ryan Carty on Silver
