Wyatt Nelson Named CAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week

NEWARK, Del. – Blue Hen sophomore righthander Wyatt Nelson was named Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week on Monday following a pair of outstanding performances on the mound.
Nelson was stellar in Delaware's wins over No. 24 Maryland and Monmouth last week, allowing just two hits in 8.2 scoreless innings of work.
He tossed 3.2 hitless frames in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Terps, walking only one and striking out one. Nelson then allowed just two hits while posting two strikeouts and one walk in five scoreless innings to pick up the win during the 10-1 triumph over the Hawks on Sunday.
Nelson, whose victory over Monmouth was his first as a Blue Hen, has posted a 3.79 ERA in seven appearances this season.
Delaware is back home Tuesday with a 4 p.m. contest against Georgetown before opening conference play this weekend with a three-game set vs. James Madison at Bob Hannah Stadium.
