James Wilkinson, Grace Miller Named Delaware’s CAA Scholar-Athletes of the Year

NEWARK, Del. – Blue Hen men's tennis graduate student James Wilkinson and field hockey senior Grace Miller have been named as Delaware's Scholar-Athletes of the Year by the Colonial Athletic Association.
Wilkinson currently leads the Blue Hens with 17 singles victories this season, posting a 17-9 mark overall including a 7-5 record in dual matches where he has played at the No. 1 position. The Hertfordshire, England native has been a threat in doubles as well, tying for the team lead with 11 victories and slotting in at the No. 1 position in all 13 of UD's matches.
An All-CAA Second Team selection a year ago, Wilkinson has won 45 career singles matches and picked up another 43 wins in doubles play. The 2019-20 Team MVP, he has won 32 individual contests in dual matches while playing all but three as Delaware's No. 1.
Wilkinson was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete during the 2019-20 season. He recorded a 3.716 GPA while earning his economics degree in three and a half years, and is now beginning his MBA program at UD.
Miller, a Mount Joy, Pa. native, earned All-CAA Second Team honors last fall after ranking third on the team and tying sixth in the CAA with nine assists. She started all 22 games for the Blue Hens, scoring a goal at Old Dominion and handing out three assists at Northeastern.
Miller was a member of the 2018 and 2019 CAA regular season championship squads, and helped lead Delaware to three straight CAA Tournament championships and three consecutive NCAA Tournaments.
Miller holds a 3.939 GPA as an exercise science major, has been named to the dean's list seven times, and is applying to physical therapy graduate programs after graduating this spring. She earned her fourth NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honor during the fall and was a four-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
