Dickey Named 2022 ECAC Player of the Year

DANBURY, Conn. – University of Delaware women's basketball senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey was named a 2022 ECAC Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-ECAC first time, announced Apr. 7.
Dickey, a Baltimore, Md. native, concluded the 2021-22 season averaging the best numbers of her four-year career. She has led the nation in points per game for seven-straight weeks (Nov. 29-Jan. 10) and finished the year ranked third in the NCAA with 25.3 points per game. Dickey also averaged 10.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 40.2 percent (284-of-707) from the field and 80.9 percent (190-of-235) from the free throw line. She closed out her stellar career by making her first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance against Maryland (Mar. 18) putting together a 31-point and 10 rebound performance.
Dickey has scored in double figures 30 of her 31 appearances, including posting one 50-plus, one 40-plus and six 30-plus point game (three consecutive) performances. Tallying a career-best 19 double-doubles on the season, Dickey produced one of the most impressive double-doubles in college basketball this season, setting career-highs with 52 points and 18 rebounds on Feb. 4. Dickey became the first player since former Blue Hen Elena Delle Donne in 2012 and 2013 to earn back-to-back CAA Player of the Year honors. Dickey concluded her career in the Blue & Gold uniform totaling 1,981 points, 1,038 rebounds, 213 steals, 192 assists, 82 steals and 48 double-doubles.

ABOUT THE ECAC
The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-two-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
