4/14/2022 11:23:00 AM | Women's Golf
Delaware concludes its 2021-22 regular season this weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship. Eight CAA teams will compete for individual medalist honors while seven will be eligible for the team championship, with both titles earning participants automatic qualifiers to the NCAA Championships.
Delaware is the fourth highest ranked conference team entering the tournament behind Charleston, James Madison and UNCW. The Blue Hens have finished among the top three teams in each of the last seven CAA Championships dating back to 2013-14, including a third place finish a year ago. UD won the CAA title and advanced to the NCAA Championships in both 2015 and 2016.
Oihana Etxezarreta, who has been the Blue Hens' top finisher in five tournaments and won the individual title at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, leads the squad with a 74.82 average round. Alisa Khokhlova, who has been UD's low scorer in three tournaments, ranks second on the team with a 75.38 stroke average. Christina Carroll ranks third on UD with a 76.25 average round, followed by Lexi Dart with a 76.71 stroke average.
