Blue Hens Fourth After First Day of CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The Delaware women's golf team sits in fourth place following Friday's opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
The Blue Hens recorded a 309 team score on Friday to finish the day in fourth place out of seven squads. Charleston leads the field at 301, while Elon and UNCW are tied for second at 306.
Oihana Etxezarreta and Christina Carroll each carded four over par 76 rounds on the par 72, 5,998-yard Reserve Club course at St. James, ending the day tied for eighth place among individuals. Etxezarreta posted birdies on 1 and 17 on Friday, while Carroll birdied the third hole.
Lexi Dart is tied for 17th place at the tournament with a six over par 78, while Lene Sperling is tied for 19th place with a seven over par 79. Alisa Khokhlova, who carded a nine over par 81, is tied for 26th place.
The second round of the three-day tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
