2022 Women's Swimming Year-In-Review

NEWARK, Del. - The 2021-22 women's swimming and diving season came to a close on March 12, but there were many moments along the way to look back on including Mira Selling being named CAA Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet during the championship meet.
Tasakou broke the program record in the 100 Breast finals with a time of 1:01.67, earning the gold medal. This marked the first time a Blue Hen had won the 100 Breast in the CAA Championships. The Athens, Greece, native earned her second individual medal of the meet after taking third place in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:17.64.
Earley joined Tasakou on the third-place 400 Medley Relay team while Lyra earned bronze medals in the 400 Free and 800 Free Relays. Lyra posted top-10 times in the 100 Free (sixth - 51.05), 200 Free (eighth - 1:51.27), 400 Free Relay, and the 800 Free Relay. Earley posted top-10 times in the 100 Back (fifth - 56.20), 200 Back (eighth - 2:01.70), 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Medley Relay. Tasakou posted the second-best time in the 200 Breast and also set the program record in the 400 Medley Relay (3:41.69).
Selling set a school record with a time of 2:00.60 in the 200 IM, earning gold in the CAA Championship. She also set a program record in the 400 Medley Relay (3:41.69) and had top-10 times in the 100 Free (second - 49.58), 100 Fly (third - 54.56), 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay and the 200 Medley Relay. Selling earned CAA Swimmer of the week honors three times this season (Nov. 9, Nov. 16, Feb. 8).
Julia Servas highlighted women's diving, earning CAA Diver of the Week Honors three times this season and qualifying for the NCAA Zone A Meet. The Darien, Conn., native set a new personal best with a score of 280.05 in the 1-meter competition to take first place against CAA rival, Towson (Jan. 29). Servas swept both boards in Delaware's 193-106 victory over West Chester, as she recorded a winning score of 275.48 in the 3-meter competition. She also placed first in the 1-meter competition with a score of 275.48, which qualified for the NCAA Zone meet.

Going Down in History
Selling was named the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after taking gold in the 200 IM, 200 Free and 200 Fly. She claimed her third gold medal of the 2022 CAA Championship, winning the 200 Fly in a time of 2:00.00. Selling becomes the second-ever Blue Hen to win the event and the first since 2005. The Dresden, Germany native now has five career gold medals. The Conclusion
Delaware concluded the 2021-22 season going undefeated, 4-0, at home while posting a 6-1 record in dual and tri-meets.
